Artisan vegan cheese is set to launch in 104 Waitrose stores across the UK following a hugely successful trial.

Products from La Fauxmagerie were stocked in 21 outlets nationwide as a trial period over Christmas.

The plant-based cheese was so popular that it is now available in more stores from today (March 30), with plans to increase to full nationwide distribution over the next year.

The brand will be supplying a range of cheeses to Waitrose.

Among them are Truffle Camemvert, Brielliant Fauxmage, Brick Lane Bree, Brixton Blue, Balham Blue, and Shoreditch Smoked.

Speaking last year about the products, Sarah Miness, cheese buyer at Waitrose, said: “We are delighted to bring artisanal vegan cheese brand, La Fauxmagerie to our shelves.

“The time, care and attention which is taken by the producers to create these great-tasting alternatives is simply extraordinary and the final product is absolutely delicious.”

According to Miness, interest in artisanal vegan cheese has extended beyond vegan consumers, with a variety of customers taking an interest in dairy-free alternatives.

‘Ecstatic’

Speaking last year about the launch into 20 Waitrose stores, La Fauxmagerie founders Rachel and Charlotte Stevens revealed they were ‘ecstatic’ about the partnership.

They said: “We’ve spent years crafting and championing delicious, high-quality dairy-free cheeses.

“We are ecstatic that our range of cheeses are now on the shelves at Waitrose, providing authentic dairy alternatives using traditional methods, but modern ingredients!”

Taking to Instagram to share the news that they are rolling out into more shops, they said: “Fantastic news, WE’RE BACK!

“Because of your continued support over Christmas, we will now permanently be in 104 Waitrose stores.”

La Fauxmagerie vegan cheese is available in more than 100 Waitrose outlets now.
