M&S has unveiled its vegan Christmas products for 2023 featuring a range of products fit for the festive period

With Christmas just a few months away, M&S is getting us in festive spirit nice and early with the unveiling of its vegan range for 2023.

M&S’s vegan Christmas range features a range of classic festive products with a vegan twist perfect for any Christmas get-together such as a vegan turkey roast, mushroom parfait and a very decadent dessert.

Vegan Christmas canapés and starters

Before you tuck into the main course, M&S has the perfect plant-based starter on offer Plant Kitchen Mushroom Parfait with a Port Glaze (£6).

This luxuriously smooth vegan parfait is made with a blend of mushrooms and topped with a sweet apple and port glaze, and is generously sized with enough to feed up to five guests.

For those hosting, M&S is on hand to help with its vegan No Pigs in Duvets (£5.50, 12 meat-free sausages in a delicious pastry). These perfect plant-based pastries are the ultimate Christmas party nibble your guests will simply adore and consists of six mushroom and soy sausages and six soy chorizo sausages snuggled in pastry.

For those wanting something more traditional, the retailer is offering classic Vegan Pigs in Blankets wrapped in plant-based bacon.

Alternatively, the No-Pork Cocktail Sausages are a great option for any meat-eating guests as they taste just like the real thing but are entirely meat-free.

M&S is known for its whimsically-shaped foods, and this year the supermarket has a very festive offering for vegans in the form of its Snowmen Steamed Bao Buns.

These snowmen-shaped steamed bao buns are filled with vegetables in a rich hoisin plum sauce and are sure to get your guests talking!

For something a little different, the Crispy Oriental Selection Pack is a must-have for any Christmas party. This flavoursome selection pack contains four wheat parcels filled with soy protein and mushrooms, four wheat pancake parcels filled with vegetables and four wheat pancakes filled with soy, hoisin sauce, and vegetables.

Finally, if you’re looking for something to nibble on with a glass of wine, pick up the vegan cheeseboard. Filled with a selection of dairy-free cheeses including mature, smoked, mixed cranberry and crumbly French style cheeses, there’s enough here to serve four.

Vegan Christmas sides

For a delicious side that could even serve as a main, the root vegetable tarte tatin is a delicious option for veggies and meat-eaters alike.

Featuring roasted baby beetroot, red onion and Chantenay carrots on a crisp puff-pastry base, it’s rich in flavour and texture.

Another must-try side are the creamy vegan cauliflower bake and vegan potato Dauphinoise which are sure to please hungry appetites on the day.

No Christmas dinner is complete without an array of festive trimmings. To make preparations easier, M&S is bringing back its Vegan Vegetable Selection box (£26), available exclusively through the M&S Christmas Food to Order website.

The selection box contains triple-cooked roast potatoes, braised red cabbage, cheesy cauliflower and leek bake, vegan stuffing balls and meat-free sausages covered in vegan bacon.

Finally, finish your Christmas feast off with M&S’s selection of vegan sauces including gravy and bread sauce.

The Plant Kitchen Vegan Gravy (£3) is a rich gravy made with vegetable stock and onions and is simple to prepare in the microwave or a saucepan. It’s the perfect accompaniment to any plant-based roast.

No Christmas dinner would be complete without a generous helping of bread sauce, and M&S has got it covered with its plant-based bread sauce mix. Simply combine with a vegan milk and dairy-free butter alternative to create a deliciously creamy bread sauce.

Vegan Christmas mains

Returning in 2023 is Plant Kitchen’s spectacular No Turkey Turkey Joint (£10). This realistic vegan Christmas roast is made of a juicy pea protein covering a mushroom, cranberry and sage stuffing centre and is finished off with a crispy breadcrumb topping.

It serves 4 people making it perfect for feeding the family on Christmas day.

For those who prefer more traditional vegan dishes, the Plant Kitchen Butternut, Almond & Pecan Vegan Nut Roast (£10) is a great alternative.

This flavoursome butternut squash and nut roast is topped with a blend of roasted butternut squash, mixed nuts, cannellini beans, and cranberries.

The crowd-pleasing vegan nut roast, which serves 4, even comes with a sachet of red wine and thyme gravy for extra flavour.

Vegan festive desserts

No Christmas feast is complete with something sweet to finish off the meal, and M&S is pulling out all the stops with its indulgent new vegan dessert new for 2023.

One for chocolate lovers, the vegan chocolate torte combines a crunchy biscuit base with an irresistibly silky-smooth dark Belgian chocolate ganache, hand-decorated with shards of dark chocolate.

Priced at £15, it serves 6 people, but it’s so delicious you might just want to eat the whole thing yourself!

Of course, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without mince pies, and luckily M&S is on hand with its vegan version. Made from shortcrust pastry filled with classic mincemeat, they are delicious served warm with a glass of vegan mulled wine.

There’s also a traditional vegan Christmas pudding bursting with festive with spices and vine fruits, cider, rum and sherry. We think it would be perfect served with a generous dollop of Elmlea’s new vegan brandy cream!

Christmas sandwich

Finally, a fresh new addition joining the festive range at M&S this Christmas is the vibrant Ho-Ho-Pest-Ho sandwich (£3.65).

The new vegan sarnie is filled with a healthy medley of vegetables including roasted butternut squash, pickled red cabbage slaw, rocket pesto and tahini mayo on malted brown bread.

When can you buy the M&S vegan Christmas range?

The majority of the M&S vegan Christmas range is now available through Ocado and will be available in-store an online from 18 December.

For items in the Christmas Food to Order range, orders can now be placed through the website and collection is available between the 22-24 of December.
