Asda has launched the new items, which include flavoured sausages and burgers, under two of its own vegan ranges - OMV! and Plant Based by Asda

Asda has extended its vegan offering by adding nine new vegan barbecue products to its line-up, which are available in-store now.
The new items have been launched across two of its vegan lines – OMV! and Plant Based by Asda.
According to the retailer, the new items arrive amid surging interest in meat-free al fresco options, with Google searches for ‘vegetarian BBQ ideas’ soaring by 300 per cent.
Now these veg-curious diners have even more options to pick from thanks to Asda’s new vegan dishes, which include Bombay Inspired Meat-Free Bangers and Mushroom Sausages among others.
New vegan options at Asda
Offering a twist on the classic vegan sausage are two Plant Based by Asda options.
These include its Bombay Inspired Meat-Free Bangers (£2.35), which are blended with roasted sweet potatoes, roasted cauliflower, spinach and spices, and its Mushroom Sausages (£1.85)
Also among the new offerings are the OMV! No-Pork Chilli Sausages (£2.50), which are ‘perfect for spice lovers’, boasting a blend of green Jalapeños, red chillies and smoky chipotle.
Vegan burger lovers can take their pick from the new Plant Based by Asda Spiced Bean Burgers (£2.35) and OMV! No Beef Burgers (£1.85).
When it comes to serving the new meat alternatives, shoppers can pick up OMV! Deliciously Vegan Burger Mayo (£1.50) and OMV! Deliciously Vegan Brioche Burger Buns (£1.15).

Host the perfect vegan BBQ
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Asda’s Senior Director of Food Trends and Innovation, Jonathan Moore, marked the new releases by sharing three top tips on how to master the ultimate vegan BBQ.
He said: “Don’t be tempted to start cooking on your BBQ until the flames have died down, you want to cook over the coals when they are grey in colour.”
For his second tip, Jonathan said: “Don’t cook your food straight from the fridge to the BBQ, you want your food out of the fridge for 10-15 minutes before you start cooking.”
Outlining his third tip, he added: “Cook over direct and indirect heat depending on what you are cooking and how thick it is.
“When the coals are cooling slightly, you can drop vegetables like peppers and aubergine straight on and cook directly on them. This blisters the skin and adds another layer of flavour.”
