New York based dessert maker Culiraw has launched a range of raw vegan cheesecakes which are aimed at a range of consumers beyond plant-based eaters.
The brand, which is vegan, used premium whole foods in the cheesecakes, in a bid to craft a ‘guilt-free’ dessert, reports Vegconomist.
Among the ingredients are cashew nuts, which makes the cheese base, as well as maple syrup, dates, and agave.
The line offers seven flavours, including Raspberry Chocolate, Strawberry, Mango, Blueberry, Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.
They have been made to have the rich texture and taste of their traditional counterparts.
Culiraw’s founder Silvia Vidova told Vegconomist: “I can never say no to a dessert. But only when I started to care more about nutrition and wellbeing I realized that eating conventional desserts often is not a way to go.”
Saying that she couldn’t find any desserts that both satisfied her cravings, and fit into her healthy diet, she set out to create her own desserts ‘using only clean organic ingredients that nourish [her] body and support [her] healthy lifestyle’.

“From the creamy texture to the rich flavors, their cheesecakes are absolutely delicious, proving that desserts can be both appetising and nutritious.”
The cheesecakes are not just aimed at vegans, but at a diverse consumer base, which includes those who are lactose intolerant, as well as flexitarians and those with an interest in healthy eating.
According to Culiraw’s website: “Vegan Cheesecakes by Culiraw transcends dietary boundaries. From dessert enthusiasts to health-conscious connoisseurs, our cheesecakes embrace everyone. We’re more than just vegan – we’re an ode to inclusivity, catering to celiacs, diabetics, and lactose intolerants.’
The brand delivers to NYC, Long Island, Westchester county, parts of New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Its cheesecakes are available online and from a number of retailers including Met Fresh Supermarkets and Green’s Natural Foods among others.
