Vegan cheese maker Honestly Tasty has secured a deal with a major UK supermarket.

The award-winning brand, which featured in Vegan Food & Living‘s ‘best vegan cheeses of 2023’ round-up, is already available in retailers such as Ocado and Selfridges.

Now, it is launching its three bestselling cheeses in 166 Marks & Spencer stores across the UK. Customers can choose from plant-based alternatives to Brie, Camembert, and Blue cheese.

Honestly Tasty has also reduced the price of its products as part of its commitment to bring ‘vegan cheese to the masses’.

Honestly Tasty ‘thrilled’

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, M&S’s Chris Dawson said: “We’re excited to be stocking Honestly Tasty’s plant-based cheeses.

Plant-based alternatives to dairy are seeing increased demand, so we know our customers will be thrilled to discover these cheeses on our shelves.”

Honestly Tasty Co-Founder Beth Moore also hailed the new listing, adding that the company is ‘super proud’.

“From investors and loyal customers, to those that have bought gone on to recommend us to a friend – we are so grateful for each and every one of you!” she said.

Honestly Tasty’s latest move comes as the global vegan cheese market booms – with predictions of surpassing £6 billion in the next five years.

Researchers say the industry will grow at an CAGR of 9 per cent – hitting a whopping 7.10 billion USD by 2027.

Market Data Forecast argues key drivers for the growth include animal welfare concerns, as well as rising awareness of the health impact of consuming animal products.
