How can you make bacon from tempeh?
Tempeh is a high-protein fermented food made from soya, with a firm, chewy texture which makes it a great substitute for bacon.
But it won’t taste like bacon straight from the packet, marinating this tempeh is an essential step in adding the smoky, salty flavour of bacon to this vegan tempeh BLT sandwich.
Finely sliced tempeh crisps up beautifully, so cut the tempeh as thinly as possible for the most authentic texture.
Pair the tempeh bacon with lettuce, tomato and vegan mayo for the classic BLT sandwich flavour.
