Travel blogger Miriam Porter requested a vegan meal on a recent Air Canada flight - but was left pretty speechless at what she received

A vegan travel blogger was left speechless (and hungry) after the vegan ‘meal’ she requested on a recent flight turned out to just be a bottle of water.

Miriam Porter, aka The Kind Traveler on TikTok, was flying from Toronto with Air Canada and had ordered a plant-based meal in advance.

However, Porter stunned her followers after posting that all she received for the 10-hour journey was a bottle of water and a napkin.

The Canadian journalist did however add in the comments section that flight attendants went into business class to try and makeshift a meal for her.

‘I feel your pain’

She wrote: “Shout out to the kind flight attendant that got me fruit and dinner rolls from business class… I love fruit but also like entire meals!”

The TikTok video has since garnered a staggering 1.3 million views, and attracted thousands of comments.

“Bring your own food. That’s what I do as a vegan as well,” one user suggested.

Another commented: “I feel your pain! Even when you preorder meals there are mistakes, misunderstandings and forgotten meals”.

Air Canada meal policy on flights

On its website, Air Canada states it offers a “selection of special meals to meet customer’s dietary needs” including vegetarian and vegan dishes.

However, it says that these should be booked at least 24 hours before the first flight in your itinerary. Otherwise, the request will not be guaranteed.
