Vegan pudding lovers are soon to be assembling at Asda, as Pudology have announced an exclusive launch of two new deliciously free-from cheesecake flavours, promised to be hitting the shelves of Asda supermarkets towards the end of September.

Pudology, currently stocked at Asda, Sainsbury’s and Ocado, was the brainchild of founder Lucy Wager. Lucy decided to launch the pudding company, which is a completely gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free and nut-free brand, in 2012 following on from a diagnosis of dairy and egg intolerance. Pudology’s mission is to provide a dessert for those who are forever having to say “no thank you” to traditional cakes and puddings at parties and social events.

One of Lucy’s favourite desserts is the cheesecake, therefore it was critical to get the recipe just right, meaning the concept took one year to curate and launch. Commenting on the process, Lucy adds: “For me, a Pudology take on cheesecake is all about a rich flavour delivery, a biscuit base and a creamy, dense, whipped topping. Of course, being dairy-free there’s no cheese involved.”

The two new layered dessert flavours are a toffee and chocolate cheesecake, alongside a strawberry cheesecake. Lucy adds: “It took 12 months of testing various ingredients to find the best texture and flavour for the cheesecakes plus one of the hardest challenges was achieving the shelf life to make the products viable. It was important to me that the cheesecake was layered and appealing both visually and in texture.”

She said: “Product quality is always my top priority and I think this was ingrained in me from my time as a product developer – it’s something that never leaves you. Even now, as a business owner, I keep the customer in mind and their expectations for product quality.  Product development is my passion and I hope this comes across in my products to Pudology consumers.”

Each pack will contain 2 x 70g cheesecakes (RSP: £2.50 per pack). The products will launch on 21st September, and will be on promotion from 10th October.
