Heather Mills has acquired Plant & Bean’s plant-based factory after the brand fell into administration earlier this year.
The former model turned entrepreneur purchased the 125,000 sq ft factory in Lincolnshire. It was previously used to manufacture meat alternatives for popular brands such as Quorn and Wicked Kitchen.
Mills also acquired associated equipment from administrators at Interpath for an undisclosed sum.
It is reported the facility will soon undergo renovations to ramp up its production ability.
Plant-based factory gets new owner
“I am delighted to acquire the Plant & Bean facilities and keep it as a non-meat factory,” Mills said, according to The Grocer.
“I’m also pleased to try and help the founder who has worked in a similar vein to myself for many decades to drive positive change for the environment, the animals and for the health of the global population.”
James Clark, managing director at Interpath said he too was ‘delighted’ to secure the sale.
“The factory has huge scope to deliver improved economic output for the Boston area,” he added.
“We wish the buyer all the best in their new venture.”

Heather Mills’ vegan empire
Mills’ latest acquisition joins her growing vegan portfolio. The star is known for her plant-based food brand VBites, but also debuted a cruelty-free makeup range back in 2019.
Be At One’s products are specially designed for vegans to ‘ensure that nothing dead is being unintentionally put on their face’.
The range, made in collaboration with former model Milena Thacker features a slew of cruelty-free products including mascara, lip gloss, BB cream, and concealer.
