Meatless Farm products are back in stores just months after the brand was rescued by fellow vegan meat maker VFC
Meatless Farm is back on supermarket shelves, just months after collapsing into administration.
The plant-based brand stopped operations and hired an insolvency firm after a ‘big investor’ reportedly backed out.
According to several reports, Meatless Farm racked up staggering losses of more than £17 million in three years.
However, the brand was rescued by fellow alternative meat makers VFC (Vegan Fried Chicken), who argued the brand has an annual turnover of £12 million.

Meatless Farm back in supermarkets
Now, Meatless Farm’s flagship products – including mince and quarter pounders – are back in Asda stores across the UK.
The brand’s more recent launches will also be available to buy. These include Beef, Red Wine & Porcini Mushroom Girasole, No-Duja Ravioli, and Pork & Apple Sausages.
CEO Dave Sparrow said getting Meatless Farm back on the shelves was the brand’s ‘number one priority’, according to The Grocer.
The company is also aiming to re-launch into more retailers and foodservice establishments in the near future.
However, staff made redundant at Meatless Farm have been unable to keep their postings, as VFC has deployed an already-in-house team to manage the brand.

The future of plant-based food
Despite reports on plant-based brand struggling to stay afloat in the current climate, VFC is confident its new acquisition will survive.
In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, the brand’s creator Matthew Glover said: “VFC Foods is well positioned to sustainably grow the MF brand once the cost-of-living crisis eases, and the plant-based space has experienced further consolidation.
“Reducing our meat consumption is crucial for a healthier, more sustainable future.
“We will continue developing vegan alternatives which taste so good, they render the need to kill animals obsolete.”
