It is safe to say that when I first received these filet mignon steaks, I was in utter disbelief.
Never had I seen vegan meat look or feel like this! The marbled details and pink tones are simply revolutionary.
Juicy Marbles’ filet mignon and made from a blend of wheat and soy protein, natural flavourings, and beetroot powder.
Once out of the packaging, I prepped the ‘meat’ according to the simple guidelines. I topped each steak with a teaspoon of Dijon mustard for a bit of added flavour.
In a hot pan, I added a good drizzle of olive oil and fresh thyme followed by the filet mignon.
While these steaks were sizzling away in the frying pan, I found myself re-reading the packaging that ensure they were 100% vegan!
In addition to the incredible smell, the steaks caramelised beautifully creating a crispy edge with a melt-in-the-mouth centre.
The steaks took just a few minutes on either side until they were ready to eat.
I served mine with creamy mash, some greens, and a quick creamy mushroom sauce.
Furthermore, the steaks were beyond my expectations, it is clear that we are stepping into a new era of food technology, with Juicy Marbles leading the way for alternative meat.
Although, it is worth noting these steaks cost a pretty penny. They are currently priced at €30 for 4, plus €15 for postage.
We know that these steaks are not for everyone, but if it helps meat-eaters move away from animal meat then it has our full support.
