LØCI says its innovative corn leather sneakers are as ‘resistant and durable’ as real animal leather - and are better for the environment

LØCI has launched a new line of vegan shoes made from corn leather.
The footwear brand’s latest collection features an ‘innovative fusion’ of maize husk and recycled textile that is 63 percent biodegradable.
LØCI says the cruelty-free material is as ‘resistant and durable’ as animal leather and is better for the environment.
The new line, which is available to order online, consists of both high-tops and low-tops in a variety of colour blends, all emblazoned with the iconic LØCI logo. Prices start from £175.
‘Exceptional products’
“We believe that the measure of our success lies in the magnitude of our impact,” said CEO Emmanuel Eribo.
“Today, it is crucial to go beyond creating exceptional products; we are here to drive change.
“That is why it is always imperative for us to think differently and swim against the tide.”

Leonardo DiCaprio backs LØCI
LØCI made headlines last year when it was revealed acclaimed actor Leonardo DiCaprio had invested an undisclosed sum to help the brand expand.
Speaking to his 19.6 million Twitter followers, DiCaprio said: “I’m proud to be an investor in LØCI… A brand dedicated to minimising its environmental impact, and centred around creating cruelty-free, ethical footwear.”
This is not the first vegan business venture for the star; he has investments in a range of brands including vegan fast food chain Neat Burger. DiCaprio has also backed cultivated meat and seafood brands such as Mosa Meat and Aleph Farms.
