Pukpip’s frozen real chocolate banana treat is now being stocked at the newly relaunched Vegan Kind supermarket.

At only 161 calories per banana, the award-winning brand aims to bring a healthier alternative to vegan ice cream to the market with its chocolate-dipped bananas on a stick, with the aim of helping people reach their 5-a-day.

As a first of its kind in the UK, the indulgent fruit treat contains only natural ingredients and no additives or preservatives. Following the success of its sister brand in the US, Pukpip adapted its new product to fit the UK food market.

The frozen banana treats were praised at the 2023 International Food and Drink Event for their innovation and uniqueness.

Pukpip responsibly sources its bananas from the coastal region of Ecuador, rescuing bananas that have been rejected due to small imperfections like skin pigmentation, odd shape, size, and even if there are simply too many bananas in a bunch.

What’s more, the banana peels are upcycled back into the ecosystem, ultimately reducing waste.

“No added stuff, just simple and delicious”

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Pukpip’s Managing Director, Zara Gugen, said: “Pukpip’s Real Frozen Bananas Dipped in Chocolate combine real fruit and chocolate. No added stuff, just simple and delicious, so consumers can feel good about treating themselves.”

Gugen added how excited the dessert brand is to secure its first online listing with the Vegan Kind. “We sampled more than 4,000 chocolate-dipped bananas at this year’s IFE and were blown away by the positive feedback from everyone, demonstrating the appetite for innovative, real fruit indulgence!”

You can order Pukpip via the Vegan Kind today, RRP £3.99 for multipacks of 3.
