Papa Johns has announced it will be launching a limited edition surprise vegan pizza for Veganuary 2024 – Vegan BBQ Chicken.

The chain describes its new pie, which will be available from January 2, 2024, as the answer to ‘plant-based prayers’.

It describes the dish as ‘topped with Papa Johns much-loved vegan ‘Sheese’, succulent slices of the newly launched plant-based “Chicken” pieces, mushrooms, onions and a sweet and tangy BBQ drizzle’.

In addition, the vegan “chicken” topping will be available across the entire Papa Johns menu.

This means those wanting to try it can add it to any pizza of their choice, and not just just as part of the new dish.

According to Papa Johns, this makes the option ideal for those opting to transition slowly away from meat, or to incorporate more flexitarian options into their diet.
