Oatly has partnered with frozen dessert chain 16 Handles to debut a festive vegan soft serve flavour – Chocolate Peppermint.
The vegan Christmas flavour, which the brands say will ‘ring in the holiday season’, debuted on Thursday in all 16 Handles locations across New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
According to the store, the new and exclusive soft serve will be featured for a limited time, hitting its menu as one of two oat milk-based flavours available for the entire month of December.
Chocolate Peppermint, which is made using Oatly’s oat milk for the base, mixed with cocoa and peppermint, is the latest flavour borne of the collaboration between Oatly and 16 Handles.
The two brands have an ongoing partnership, with the store selling a range of Oatly’s vegan ice cream soft serve flavours, including the limited editions they collaborate on.
Their previous limited editions have included Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate Cake and Marshmallow and S’mores flavours.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, 16 Handles CEO Neil Hershman, said: “If you love chocolate and that fresh peppermint taste, this new non-dairy soft serve is perfect for you.
“We are thrilled to be ending the year on a high by partnering with our friends at Oatly to create this exclusive, festive flavour.”
The brand added that all of its vegan options made with Oatly are ‘flawlessly crafted between [our] culinary teams to create a delicious, non-dairy treat’.
The festive treat is certified vegan. It’s also certified non-GMO, gluten-free, and kosher.
It is available in all of 16 Handles’ 30 stores, which are spread across five US states. Each shop’s full menu is available in store and via the 16 Handles app.
