Italian food brand Crosta & Mollica is releasing vegan sorbetto shells just in time for summer.

The upmarket company has been perfecting its latest frozen vegan dessert, which comes in two different flavours: Lemon and Pomegranate.

The new products will debut exclusively in Waitrose stores across the UK on April 16. They will be priced at £5.75 for a box of two.

They contain real fruit picked in Italy and ‘provide a lighter alternative to a classic scoop of ice cream or gelato’.

‘Melt-in-the-mouth’

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Crosta & Mollica said: “The quintessentially Italian dessert is meticulously crafted by scooping out the pulp from the fruit centre, using the original flavour directly from the ripened fruit to create a beautifully smooth sorbet…

“The fresh fruit and ice combination balances tangy and tart flavours with fruity sweetness for a melt-in-the-mouth sensation. Bellissimo!”

The vegan sweet treats join Crosta & Mollica’s first plant-based product, the Vegana Sourdough Pizza, which debuted back in 2021.
