Crackd has launched a range of vegan quiches in a major UK retailer.

The brand’s latest creations are made with its award-winning ‘liquid egg replacer’ – which is available to buy separately in supermarkets across the nation.

Now, it has debuted a line of egg-free quiches in three varieties: Quiche Lorraine, Cheeze & Broccoli and Caramelised Red Onion.

Vegan quiche – where to buy

Crackd‘s vegan quiches, which retail at £3 for a 150g portion, will launch exclusively in Tesco stores at the end of May. They will be found in the plant-based chilled aisle next to quiches and pies.

In a statement sent to Vegan Food & Living, Crackd also revealed it has secured another huge listing which it will announce in the next four weeks.

A ‘key opportunity’

Crackd’s Nisha Singadia said the company was ‘thrilled’ with the launch, citing the ‘considerable growth’ in people eating plant-based.

“There is an increasing appetite to look for products which do not compromise on either taste or quality. As part of this, we have identified quiches as being a key opportunity area,” Singadia added.

“We also know the quiche market itself has grown eight percent* in the last few years… But, a plant-based egg offering does not currently exist”.

THIS partnership

To create its trio of vegan quiches, Crackd has partnered with cheese brand Applewood and vegan meat creators THIS.

It’s Quiche Lorraine features diced THIS™ Isn’t Bacon Lardons and smoked Applewood Vegan® cheez – as well as tomatoes, parsley and white pepper.

The Cheeze & Broccoli and Caramelised Red Onion also feature Applewood’s acclaimed vegan cheese.

“Together, we hatched the plan to make UK’s first plant-based Quiche Lorraine,” said THIS™ Founder Andy Shovel.

“We were so eggsited that the whole team scrambled to make it happen. The end result is absolutely eggsquisite.”
