Pukka is launching two vegan steak products for Veganuary, products it says will ‘leave you wanting more’.

The two products include its Vegan No Steak Pie and its Vegan No Steak Slice.

According to Pukka, its plant-based meat pie features ‘tender, juicy vegan ‘steak’ pieces….with diced onions covered in a rich, peppery, gravy’.

This filling is encased in 144 layers of puff pastry.

Meanwhile, its plant-based slice offers an on-the-go option. The brand describes it as puff pastry wrapping seasoned plant-based meat pieces covered in ‘lashings of rich gravy’.

The Vegan No Steak Slice can be eaten either hot or cold, making it a convenient option.

Pukka’s vegan products – and more

The new bakes join a growing line-up of plant-based meat products available from retailers and eateries – showing how increasingly easy it is to be vegan.

In terms of Pukka’s meat-free line-up, the pie and slice join its Vegan Minced Steak & Onion and Vegan Chicken & Mushroom.

When it comes to grab-and-go options, high street bakery Greggs is one of the most famous eateries offering plant-based alternatives.

While its plant-based meat slice option is sporadically offered on its menu, its vegan sausage roll is always available.

Meanwhile, its festive bake containing meat-free turkey can be bought from Iceland or Food Warehouse stores and heated at home.

One of the most upmarket vegan steak options available is Juicy Marbles, which is available from Waitrose in a two-pack of Thick-Cut Filet Plant-Based Steaks.

Another high-end option available via eateries and restaurants (they can currently be ordered by chefs and restaurants) are the long-awaited Beyond Meat vegan steak strips.

Pukka’s Vegan No Steak Pie (RRP. £1.99) and Vegan No Steak Slice (RRP. £1.95) will be available at Sainsbury’s from December 29 and Asda from January 1. The Vegan No Steak Pie will also be available at Tesco from January 1.
