Cult confectionary brand Fruit-tella says its new vegan formula ‘replicates the taste and texture of our beloved chews’…

Fruit-tella is launching vegan versions of its bestselling fruit chews.

The confectionery giant first offered vegan sweets back in 2019 in the form of its gelatine-free fruity Koalas and Fruit-tella Sour Snakes.

Now, the brand’s iconic soft chews will hit the shelves with a new vegan-friendly formula. This includes the Strawberry Mix Chews, Duo Stix, and Berries & Cherries.

Convenience Store reports that the newly veganised sweet treats will be available in UK supermarkets next month.

The launch will be fuelled by an ‘influencer campaign’ and ‘targeted sampling’.

However, no specific details of the launch – such as any possible changes to price or availability – have been confirmed.

Vegan Food & Living has contacted Fruit-tella for comment.

‘A sure-fire hit’

According to reports, senior brand manager Lauren Potter said: “Fruit-tella has been synonymous with the highest quality sweets since 1931.

“We’re delighted that those who favour a plant-based diet can now join in the fruity fun too.

“We have worked hard to perfect a vegan recipe that replicates the taste and texture of our beloved chews. And, we’re certain that the new formulation will be a sure-fire hit with existing consumers and new shoppers alike.”
