Highgate Cemetery #1

Harry Craddock, author of the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, observed of a drink of this nature that “Four taken in quick succession will un-revive the corpse again” and thus the cocktail was named The Corpse Reviver #2. As our distillery and bar is on the same road as Highgate Cemetery, we named our take on this sharp, gently herbaceous and citrus sweet classic the Highgate Cemetery #1.

Method
  1. Add to a cocktail shaker equal measures (1 shot each) of Sacred Organic Gin, English Amber Vermouth, lemon juice and orange liqueur, shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass rinsed with a few drops of absinthe.
  2. Drop in a maraschino cherry.

English Dry Buck

The Buck has a cloudy history, seemingly deriving from a combination of the Gin Rickey and the Tom Collins. Combining spirit, citrus (usually lemon) juice and ginger ale, here we give it a low-abv spin with our English Dry Vermouth (made with English wine and no added sugar), in a drink that can be made individually or in a large jug and shared.

English Negroni

Invented in the early part of the 20th century by the now immortalised Count Negroni in Florence, we have taken each classic ingredient and developed the very best all-natural English equivalents to make The Complete English Negroni

Method
  1. Take a rocks glass, fill with good ice and add one shot each of Sacred Gin, Rosehip Cup and English Spiced Vermouth. Stir to combine and garnish with a slice of orange, or pared zest.
  2. For a deep, aromatic alternative, try substituting in Sacred Cardamom Gin, or Christmas Pudding Gin when in season.

Amber Spritz

Combining the spirit of Italian summer, the Spritz, with a vermouth and soda and notes of white wine might leave you somewhere near this light and sophisticated spritz, with notes of Spanish orange and gentle bitterness on the palate, zinging with the fizz of sparkling wine. A perfect low-abv option to while away the evening.

Dartmouth Park

Our twist on a Manhattan, a cocktail named after the New York district of its invention, we have here named our twist the Dartmouth Park: our distillery bar lies just off Dartmouth Park Hill. In the spirit of mixing things up a bit, we combine English Whisky Liqueur with our English Dry Vermouth, so the characteristic sweetness of the cocktail comes from the whisky side, rather than the usual vermouth.
